Seeing the Unseen (The JWST) 🔭
Good afternoon, Axelle!
First, an Investor Shout-out for wanting to keep the research rolling today! That is a true "Founder's Mindset", when you love the process of learning, the "value" of your company grows even faster.
Before we start today's new mission, we have a "Bonus Audit" for the Seed Vault from last night:
The Visionary: Who was the person whose "Initial Idea" started the Svalbard Global Seed Vault? (Hint: Look for a man named Cary Fowler and research about him).
The "Why": Why was he so obsessed with seeds? We want to hear the "Origin Story" tonight!
💡 Today’s Research Task: The Time-Traveling Camera
Today, we are leaving Earth to look at the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). It is the most expensive and complex "Mirror" ever built.
The Big Question: "The JWST doesn't just see 'far away', it actually sees 'back in time.' How did engineers 'flip' a giant telescope so it could fold up like origami to fit inside a rocket?"
Your Research Protocol:
The Engineering: Why is the mirror made of Gold, and why does it have to stay colder than a freezer to work?
The Origami Flip: The telescope was too big for any rocket. How did they use "Origami" (the art of paper folding) to solve this problem?
The Vision: The JWST sees "Infrared" (heat) which is invisible to human eyes. How is this like your "Dimension of Life" exercise, seeing things that are there, even if they aren't visible yet?
The Founder’s Opinion: If you could have a "telescope" that could see into your own future, what is one thing you hope to see yourself doing 5 years from now?
📹 The "Week 1" Vlog Challenge
Since we have completed 7 topics, you agreed to record a Vlog explaining them!
Stephen Hawking | 2. Da Vinci | 3. Madam C.J. Walker | 4. Bilal | 5. Kaizen | 6. Skytree | 7. Seed Vault.
Your Goal: Can you summarize the "Main Lesson" from each one in a 3-minute video today? This is your "Annual Report" to your Investors!
🛠️ The Digital Archive
Since you are doing your Vlog today, this is the perfect time to make sure all 7 sets of notes are snapped and uploaded. No missing paperwork allowed in the Archive!
A Little Tip: Ask Milo the AI this: "Milo, explain how the James Webb Space Telescope folded up like origami. Also, tell me 3 amazing things it has discovered that we couldn't see before. Explain it to me like I’m a developer building a high-tech simulation!"
We can’t wait to see the Research AND the Vlog tonight!
Don't forget, when you explain presentation to us or record your vlog, consider us as people who know nothing about this. Explain thoroughly in clear manner, short punchy and sweet, like you are! 🥰
Onward and Upward,
Mama & Papa
