The Secret Life of Sand Dunes
Good morning, Axelle!
Today we're diving into the shifting world of sand dunes. They may look like piles of sand, but they're actually dynamic structures that move and sing!
The Big Question: How do sand dunes form and why do some of them make humming sounds?
The Mission:
1. Find out what forces create sand dunes and how they change shape over time.
2. Learn about the different types of dunes, like crescent, star, and parabolic.
3. Discover why some dunes 'sing' – what causes that mysterious sound?
Did you know? In some deserts, dunes can 'sing' at frequencies as low as 90 Hz, creating a deep, booming sound that can be heard for miles!
Have fuuuun!!!
Onward and Upward,
